"Wolfram Neureither is a German luthier who has been living in Montpellier for many years.
Despite building instruments copying the ones of Italian masters, his work has a lot of personality. It is spontaneous, fresh and free and at the same time under the security and control of the one who knows well the trade of the violin making and has clear the concepts of style and aesthetics of classic instruments.
This cello is a copy based on a model of Montagnana, although has been reduced and adapted to the standards of current measures.
It is an instrument with the typical features and character of Wolfram Neureither. Many cellos - like this one - are constructed by this luthier with piopo wood, that has acoustic featires that contribute to a warmness sound and a rich timber of very interesting harmonics.
It is an instrument with warm and expressive sound.
All these characteristics are possible by the combination between materials and the model, the Montagnana, which has a broad box, separate fiber-reinforced top, and also the height of bottom vaults and lid.
It is ideal for orchestra or chamber music due to the quality and richness of harmonics and a capacity to mix the sound with the other instruments, and also for a soloist career: due to its richness in low and medium registers, it projects very well the sound: powerfuly, openly and easily.
In terms of sizes, it is only necessary to take into account that it is a Montagnana model, with a larger box width, but in terms of fingering, it is the same as that of a standard cello."
