Ragnar Hayn was born in Berlin in 1978 as the only son of a family of artists and grew up in Hamburg. The art of violin manufacturing has always inspired him: at age 12 he was already a specialist learning in a self-taught way. His professional training as a violin maker and restorer began in 1998 at the famous Newark School of Violin Making in England. After three years he received his diploma with distinction for special services. Ragnar Hayn returns to Berlin, where he works in the workshop of Daniel Kogge and Yves Gateau. During this intense period, he accumulated working on instruments of Italian masters of the 17th and 18th centuries, which served as valuable experience as a restorer.
In 2005 Ragnar Hayn started his own business with his own workshop in Berlin. Both his artistic craftsmanship and his ability and experience, have been able to demonstrate during his training in international competitions. Hayn is one of the highest international violin makers.
